Mario Macedo
Mario Macedo, research associate at IMIS, presented a knowledge extraction pipeline he developed himself, which uses artificial intelligence to automatically detect allergic reactions in patients from clinical free texts. Tobias Bronsch, also a research assistant at IMIS, presented the integration of patient consent forms for the use of data and biomaterials for research into the Medical Data Integration Center (MeDIC) at UKSH. The aim is to be able to correctly reflect and enforce the wishes of patients regarding data disclosure in MeDIC at all times. In addition to the exciting technical presentations, the conference also offered an opportunity to learn about the culture and history of a strikingly modern Asian island.
