Konstantin Kinzel receives first place for the best master’s thesis “Use of data glasses for outpatient wound documentation using the example of Google Glass” at conhIT 2016. He developed an application in the Department of General, Visceral, and Transplant Surgery at the University of Heidelberg that deals with the standardized documentation and presentation of the treatment and healing process of a wound in the outpatient sector. He worked out the requirements of the development basis with two Heidelberg surgeons. In addition to providing insight into the course of the disease, the application also enables therapy documentation with Google Glass data glasses and the taking of photos. The additional wound report generated during runtime allows the attending physician to inform the patient about treatment and progress in a comprehensible form.
