Scientific Exchange with Professor Leonardo Ramirez from Nueva Granada University

During Kiel Week, Prof. Dr. Leonardo Juan Ramírez López visited our institution as a representative of the Universidad Militar Nueva Granada (UMNG) and the Central Military Hospital of Colombia.
Dr. Ramírez is a full-time professor for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs and specializes in innovation and research methodology in medical informatics. He is an experienced researcher in the fields of biomedical engineering, telemedicine, and digital health and serves as an expert advisor to the Colombian Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. He is also a member of the editorial board of Informatics in Medicine Unlocked (Amsterdam, since 2018). Finally, he is a senior investigator and head of the TIGUM telemedicine research group. His visit aims to promote collaboration and explore joint opportunities in research, innovation, and interdisciplinary education.
